Walking, A Way - The Art of Seeing (Part 2)
This collection of photographs is an evolving collection, taken on walks in rural environments across the Peak District and Derbyshire countryside that surrounds Sheffield. By walking we etch our bodily presence onto the landscape. The paths we tread become in equal parts the journey itself and temporary imprints on the earth, evidence of where we have been and who has been before us. In this way we interact with the earth and the ground we tread. Moving on foot also changes how we experience our environment. Walking allows us to reconnect with the world and nature, and for the world to come to us in a natural rhythm. It encourages the “act of seeing” transforming how we understand familiar environments.
